Hello, Special Person:

Welcome to Be Your Best Self.

Personal development and self improvement are essential to enhancing our lives.  To that end we are--each of us--a work in progress. And that’s what this website is--a work in progress, continuously striving to inspire, uplift and motivate you to be your best self. It can best be summarized by the following quote from Marianne Williamson, author and lecturer:

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves: Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Know Who You Are

by Morna Douglas

Knowing who you are gives you a sense of self. Without your sense of self you'll be wandering aimlessly throughout life without an identity, without knowing what's really important to you--your core values.  So you must know your identity.

If you don't know your identity, you don't know who you are;  and if you don't know who you are you'll have no authority over yourself, no inner guide. You'll be powerless, leaving yourself open to negative emotions, doubt, fear, stifling your hopes and dreams.

When you know who you are, you're a dangerous person--someone to be reckoned with. You have power. You have confidence and purpose. You can't be manipulated or seduced from your identity and lose your true authority over yourself.

You won't need to impress people if you know who you are. Your strong sense of self will give you the courage and self confidence to aim high, pursue your dreams--whatever they are--not seeking approval from others.

When you know who you are, you're a whole person.

To know who you are gives you direction. You will have the The Power of Purpose. You'll know where you want to go and devise a plan on how you're going to get there--one step at a time.

Knowing who you are gives you the motivation to stick with the plan-- and never lose focus. You will not be distracted by all that's going on around you, especially in today's world with all its problems.

Knowing who you are gives you the confidence to accept change when necessary.  And change is inevitable--the world is constantly changing. And there's no doubt that that will effect change in you. So you must be flexible. Adapt to the change and move on--purpose in mind, taking each step one at a time, dealing with any obstacle one at a time. You do have The Power to Change.

So do you know who you are? Or are you having an identity crisis? Who are you?

Allow me, please, to suggest who you are...

You are a queen.

You are a king.

You are a princess.

You are a prince.

You are God's gift to the world.

You and the universe are one.

You are powerful.

You can achieve anything. So Aim High.

And let everyone know who you are. Let the world know who you are.
